About the Workshop
Join Tania Laham for a joyful and energetic introduction to Dabke, the traditional folk dance of Bilad el Sham (the Levant). Dabke is a group line dance traditionally performed at celebrations and gatherings. It is high-energy, rhythmic, and accessible to all levels.
This is open to all participants. No previous dance training is required. Whether you are completely new to Dabke or have danced it socially before, you are welcome to join.

This workshop features dance as a way to build connection, cultural appreciation, and community.
Proceeds from this workshop will be directed toward assisting individuals and families impacted by the bombing in Lebanon. This gathering is both a cultural learning space and a small way of offering support and solidarity through community action.
What to Expect
- A beginner-friendly introduction to Dabke steps and rhythm
- Clear instruction with breakdowns of movements
- Group-based learning in a supportive environment
- No partner work required
- A welcoming space for all bodies, backgrounds, and experience levels
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing they can move in, including modest attire if preferred.
