Pricing Updates: Keeping Dance Affordable While Supporting a Growing Studio

At Duniya Studio, one of our core goals has always been to make Bellydance accessible, welcoming, and affordable.

As our studio continues to grow, we’ve had to take a close look at our costs and find ways to balance affordability with the realities of running a small business. To help us do that, we’re making a few updates to our pricing structure.

Goodbye to the Credit Card Convenience Fee

Let’s start with the good news.

We are eliminating the 3% convenience fee that was previously added to credit card payments. Whether you pay by credit card or another method, the listed price is now the price you’ll pay (plus applicable taxes).

HST Will Now Be Applied

Beginning with upcoming registrations, HST will be added to class fees.

We know nobody gets excited about taxes, but this isn’t a studio surcharge. It’s a government requirement, and the tax collected is remitted directly to the government.

New Student Registration Fee

New student accounts will now include a one-time registration fee of $10.

This fee helps cover the administrative work involved in setting up and maintaining student accounts, processing registrations, and managing our studio systems.

The fee applies only when a new account is created. Returning students will not be charged it again.

Our Commitment to Affordability

Like many organizations, we’ve seen the cost of rent, software, payment processing, insurance, advertising, and event production continue to rise.

We’ve tried to make these adjustments thoughtfully so that we can continue offering quality classes, workshops, performance opportunities, and community events without dramatically increasing tuition.

Most importantly, we believe that everyone who wants to dance should have the opportunity to do so. We never want money to be the reason someone stops dancing.

If finances are making classes difficult to afford, please talk to us. We regularly have opportunities for students to earn discounts by helping with tasks that support our community, such as:

• Putting up flyers
• Sharing events on social media
• Volunteering at recitals, haflas, and workshops
• Assisting with other studio projects

Many hands make light work, and our community has always thrived because people contribute in different ways.
