Update on Duniya Studio’s Online Classes

Over the past few years, we’ve loved connecting with dancers from near and far through our online classes. When COVID-19 arrived, we made a quick shift to teaching online so we could keep our community moving and connected. In those difficult, uncertain times, being able to see each other’s faces, dance together, and share music across while social-distancing was vital for everyone’s wellbeing. Those memories, and the resilience and joy our community showed, will always be a cherished part of our history.

After much thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue our online classes. While we’ve truly appreciated every dancer who joined us virtually, the number of sign-ups in recent sessions hasn’t been enough to keep the program sustainable.

We warmly invite our online dancers to join us in person at our Kanata or Orleans locations this fall. If you can’t make it to our in-person classes, we’re happy to recommend other wonderful teachers who offer online learning:

  • Florence of Grace & Beauty Movement Academy — available through Patreon
  • Aziza — available at aziza.tv

We are also exploring the possibility of offering paid access to recordings from our previous online classes for those who’d like to continue learning at their own pace. Please let us know if that’s something you’d be interested in.

And of course, if there’s increased demand in the future, we’ll always consider bringing back our online classes.

Thank you to everyone who danced with us online! You’ve been a vital part of our Duniya Studio story, and we hope to keep dancing together in new ways.
