Duniya Studio offers culturally relevant, family-friendly performances that bring elegance, energy, and vibrancy to your celebration. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate gala, private party, or restaurant show, our professional Raqisa will captivate your guests with artistry, joy, and cultural richness!

Performance Packages

Solo Performances for Special Events

Perfect for weddings, corporate events, theatre shows, and private parties.

  • 10–15 minute solo Raqs Sharqi performance: $350
    • Add a second performance (same dancer, within 1 hour or first performance): +$200
    • Add a second performance (different dancer, within 1 hour of first performance): +$300
  • Candelabra zeffa (zeffah, zeffeh) procession only (one dancer): $300
    • Additional dancer(s) for procession only: +$200 per dancer
  • Full Wedding package (includes a candelabra procession by one dancer before dinner and a separate Raqs Sharqi or folkloric show during/after dinner (max. 60 minute waiting time): $500
    • Additional dancers for procession and dinner show: +$300 per dancer

Regular Bookings – Restaurants, Lounges, Nightclubs

Available only on a scheduled standing commitment basis (minimum 4 shows, e.g., 2 per month over 2 months).

  • 10–15 minute solo Raqs Sharqi performance: $300
    • Second performance (same dancer, within 1 hour): +$150
    • Second performance (different dancer, within 1 hour): +$250

Additional Terms

  • Holidays (New Year’s Eve, Canada Day, Thanksgiving, etc.): double the regular rate listed above.
  • Excessive waiting: 30-minute grace period included; $50 per additional half hour after grace time exceeded.
  • Travel fees (outside Ottawa–Gatineau):
    • Driving distance (≤3 hours): $1.00/km
    • Longer travel: transportation + hotel accommodation
    • Out-of-town contracts over 2 days: $100/day per diem for meals

Dance Repertoire

Please note that not all dance styles are available on short notice. Specialty numbers and group performances may require advanced booking to allow dancers sufficient time to rehearse and prepare a coordinated show to make your event spectacular. For the best experience, we recommend contacting us well in advance to discuss your vision and ensure availability.

Raqs Sharqi (Oriental Dance, Belly Dance):

  • To recorded music or your own live musicians;
  • Classic Arabic & Turkish Raqs Sharqi;
  • Modern belly dance (Arabic, Turkish, popular songs, various culturally-respectful fusion styles);
  • Props: veil, stick, finger cymbals, candle tray, sword, Isis wings, and more.

Egyptian Folkloric:

  • Raqs shamadan (candelabra)
  • Raqs al assaya (stick/cane dance)
  • Tannoura (whirling skirt)
  • Shaabi, baladi, magranat
  • Muwashahat, Ghawazi, Saiidi, Eskanderani, Bedouin, Siwa Oasis, and more

Professional Contracts

All performances are confirmed in writing to clarify event information, outline client requirements, and protect both the client and the performer. The contract outlines the details of the engagement, including preferred styles, performance times, fees, and terms, ensuring peace of mind and professionalism at every step.

Booking Process & Policies

When you book with Duniya Studio, every engagement is confirmed through a written contract. This ensures clarity and professionalism for both the client and the performer. The contract includes:

  • Event details: type of event, date, time, venue, and any special requests (music, style, props, costume preferences, etc.).
  • Fees and payment schedule:
    • Deposit due at the time of booking, and terms of balance payment.
  • Performer requirements: a safe, clean, unobstructed dance space; access to sound system (Bluetooth or AUX); and a secure private changing area.
  • Timing: the performer arrives 10 minutes before start time, ready to perform. Delays beyond a 30-minute grace period will incur additional waiting fees.
  • Cancellations: at least 48 hours’ notice is required. Deposits are non-refundable. Late cancellations are charged the full agreed fee.
  • Professional standards: Duniya Studio guarantees culturally relevant, family-friendly performances, delivered on time and as agreed.
