The countdown is on! We’re excited to introduce the talented dancers who will be taking the stage at our August 29 Hafla<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our evening will feature a wonderful mix of professional performers, experienced dancers, and rising talent, capped off with a very special performance by our guest artist, Siobhan Camille<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you’re a longtime lover of Middle Eastern dance or joining us for your very first hafla, you’re in for an evening of beautiful music, artistry, and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Siobhan Camille<\/strong> to Ottawa!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our special guest for the weekend, Siobhan Camille is a multi-award-winning Raqs Sharqi artist, instructor, and founder of Greenstone Dance Arts in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Renowned for her joyful stage presence, exceptional musicality, and precise technique, she has performed and taught throughout Europe, North America, and beyond. With a background in exercise science and rehabilitation, Siobhan is equally respected for her thoughtful, anatomy-based approach to teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re thrilled that she’ll not only be performing at our hafla but also sharing her knowledge during an inspiring weekend of workshops.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We’re delighted to welcome Mayada<\/strong> to our stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayada is an accomplished Bellydance performer and instructor at Studio Oasis in Gatineau, with many years of experience sharing her passion for Middle Eastern dance. She is known for her expressive style, strong technique, and engaging stage presence, and is also a past winner of an AQDO competition, a testament to her skill and artistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether teaching or performing, Mayada continues to inspire audiences and dancers alike with her love of the art form.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\ud83c\udf1f Erin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re delighted to welcome Erin <\/strong>to the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After taking a 15-year break from dance, Erin found her way back to Raqs Sharqi during the pandemic. What began as a return to something she loved has grown into a renewed passion for learning, dancing, and performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erin is thrilled to be back in the dance community and is excited to share the stage with us once again. We\u2019re looking forward to seeing her perform.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf1f Gwen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’re pleased to welcome Gwen<\/strong> to this year’s hafla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gwen has been dancing for more than 24 years and teaches at Duniya Studio in both Renfrew and Kanata. Throughout her dance journey, she has trained with many respected instructors, including Aziza, Jillina, and Nada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, Gwen earned both First Place and the Audience Choice Award at an AQDO competition. Her favourite style is Raqs Sharqi, and she is passionate about sharing the joy of this beautiful dance form with her students and audiences alike.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\ud83c\udf1f Sin\u00e9ad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’re pleased to welcome Sin\u00e9ad<\/strong> to the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sin\u00e9ad began her Bellydance journey in 2002 and is delighted to be back on the dance floor after a 15-year hiatus. She currently trains with Duniya Studio and previously studied in Kamloops with Bill McLean, while also taking workshops with renowned artists including Dina, Dr. Mo Geddawi, Randa Kamel, Dandesh, Beba, and Aziza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has performed at restaurants and private events, choreographed for herself and troupes, and occasionally stepped in as a substitute instructor. Passionate about Raqs Sharqi and folkloric dance, Sin\u00e9ad treasures the sense of community that Bellydance creates and hopes to share the joy of dance with every audience she meets.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf1f Eleeza<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’re delighted to welcome Eleeza<\/strong> to this year’s hafla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleeza has been dancing for more than 25 years. She first discovered this art form through American Tribal Style (ATS) before gravitating toward Raqs Sharqi and Fusion. A passionate performer, costume designer, and choreographer, she is continually developing her personal style through in-person and online classes, as well as workshops with a variety of instructors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She especially enjoys dancing with props such as Isis Wings and Fan Veils, bringing colour, elegance, and creativity to her performances. Eleeza has performed in Florida and has also appeared in the Hafla! Series, presented by Aaliyah Dance in Brockville, a fundraiser supporting Leeds and Grenville Victim Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she’s not dancing, Eleeza enjoys Pilates, yoga, and clogging with the Rideau Canal Cloggers.<\/p>\n<\/div>
