What an incredible day we had at the Glebe Community Centre on Sunday, March 9th, celebrating International Women\u2019s Day with the Canadian and Turkish Women’s Association of Ottawa<\/a>! The energy in the room was absolutely electric \u2014 it was so heartwarming to see familiar faces drop by to say hello, and such a joy to meet so many new friends throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spent the day at our table, showcasing some fun dance treasures for sale; finger cymbals, hip scarves, costumes, and even my chapbook of dance-inspired poetry, Dancing Words<\/a><\/em><\/em>. It was a joy to chat with people about our classes and feel the buzz of such a warm, welcoming community all around us. One of the absolute highlights was performing with Linor, Shahd, and Gwen. Each of them brought such grace, passion, and presence to the stage. And to top it all off, Gwen and I led a lively mini-lesson that had folks up, dancing, and smiling!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
